Merch that makes a difference. This kids’ t-shirt features artwork spotlighting the elusive sandhill dunnart, one of the 11 threatened species at the centre of the Wilderness Society’s landmark Federal Court case.
The sandhill dunnart is a shy, nocturnal marsupial that calls the arid sand dunes of South Australia and Western Australia home. It sleeps in sandy burrows by day, then forages almost all night long for insects and reptiles. Often mistaken for a mouse, it’s so small and warm-blooded that it’s been spotted sharing nests with house mice to keep warm. Protecting its fragile spinifex habitat is vital to ensuring its survival.
