In the darkness underground, marsupial moles’ blind, tubular bodies actually make sense—including the pouch that has evolved to face backwards so it doesn’t fill with sand!
Despite their strange appearance, marsupial moles may benefit the desert ecosystem by controlling invertebrate populations and redistributing materials through the soil.
You don't have to look ugly to Save Ugly. We’re celebrating the not-so-cute critters that support life on earth—and you can too! Designed by local and international artists, these tees are rearing their ugly heads for a limited time only, so don't miss out.
Steve Gavan is a designer and illustrator from Melbourne. He loves that the mysterious marsupial mole looks so soft and furry, but this shy, blind critter is actually a keen hunter—or, as Steve puts it, a “little killing machine”.
Please note: With Christmas closures, this product won't be made and sent until after 7 January 2019, and can take up to 4 weeks to arrive due to production time. We'll get your order to you as quickly as we can!
