Southern cassowaries are very shy, but are capable of inflicting fatal injuries when provoked. Though they have a (somewhat) fearsome reputation, cassowaries are a key part of the rainforest ecosystem because they have the guts to eat fallen fruit whole and poop out the seeds over long distances. Solid work, guys.
You don't have to look ugly to Save Ugly. We’re celebrating the not-so-cute critters that support life on earth—and you can too! Designed by local and international artists, these tees are rearing their ugly heads for a limited time only, so don't miss out.
Beck 'Wally' Wallman is an illustrator and art director from Melbourne, Australia. She loves how frightening the southern cassowary looks, with its Steve Buscemi eyes and hammered helmet head. Her favourite part though is its bright red, lumpy neck that looks like it's wearing its testicles as a necklace.
